Zara Beauty makeup review

Let’s face it: it was only a matter of time before Zara extended her (rather fashionable) arms into the beauty world. I mean, the brand had already whetted our appetites with the highly successful launch of Emotions, the fragrance line created by none other than Jo Malone. So when the mainstreet mainstay decided it was time to release a makeup collection, it was right that he partnered with an equally iconic name in the makeup world.

The artist in question? Diane Kendal. A legend in the industry, Kendal’s hands have created countless memorable beauty looks for runways, covers and campaigns from designers like Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton and Bottega Veneta.

So how do you translate a fashion giant like Zara into an organized collection of beauty products? Of course, you are thinking big. Covering lips, cheeks, eyes and even nails, the range caters to everyone’s inner experimenter, with bold colors meant to take you out of your cosmetic comfort zone. If you ask me, it’s a very welcome reminder of the fun to be found in makeup, especially after a year of avoiding the trick.

All is not wild, however. Versatile textures mean you can dial your look up or down, while the face formulas (think blush powders and highlighters) are ground so finely that they look like the skin below , but more radiant. And while Main Street has a long way to go when it comes to sustainability in particular, each of Zara Beauty’s products are refillable.

One thing to note: when you include all of the different shade options, there are 130 individual products on offer that can make the job of picking out your favorites a little overwhelming. So I thought I would help. Below I have selected the Zara Beauty products that impressed me the most, so much so that they had room in my post-containment makeup bag.
