A whole new range of perfumes and scents have arrived, and we’ve picked our top five for you.

Malaysia welcomes a brand new perfume friend from below: Goldfield & Banks. 10 scents are available under the label, and we’ve narrowed it down to those you might want to add to your scent stock.

Apart from this, His Majesty King Charles III has launched his own perfume under the Penhaligon’s line, a brand with several Royal Warrants – one of which was awarded by His Majesty when he was Prince of Wales.

Finally, more and more designer perfume lines are expanding their offer, from Gucci to Hermès.

Our top picks of the latest fragrances launching in September 2022:

Penhaligon’s Highgrove Bouquet Eau de Parfum

Launched towards the end of August, King Charles III released a fragrance with Penhaligon’s, a fragrance that draws inspiration from his personal garden and pays homage to his favorite pastime and the hot summer weather.

With top notes of geranium, lavender and hyacinth; heart notes of weeping lime, French mimosa and tuberose; and base notes of cedarwood, fusing iris and musks, the unisex fragrance is like sunshine in a bottle.

Available on highgrovegardens.com. 10% of the proceeds from each sale goes towards The Prince’s Foundationwhich supports education and training programs in areas such as horticulture, traditional arts and engineering.

Aesop Eidesis Eau de Parfum

Presenting the fourth fragrance in the Othertopias collection, Aesop presented Eidesis, an eau de parfum overflowing with sensuality. A polarizing fragrance, it is both provocative and uplifting – a perfect fragrance for those seeking complex and unique aromas.

The fragrance opens with delicious top notes of petitgrain, spicy black pepper and a subtle hint of floral accord, and leads to a resinous center filled with frankincense, cumin and cedar, before settling into a rich base composed of sandalwood and vetiver.

Available in all Aesop stores, Aesop onlineand select department store counters on September 12, 2022.

Goldfield & Banks Sunset Time

If you’re looking for a scent that wears beautifully in a hot, humid climate, look no further. Originating in Australia, Goldfield & Banks fragrances are tested in extremely humid climatic conditions resulting in a long lasting scent that does not threaten to transform in this Malaysian environment.

With over 20% fragrant essences in every bottle, our top pick from Goldfield & Banks is the juicy and delicious Sunset Hour. The juice packs delicious notes of desert peach, raspberry and tangerine, with the punchy tones of pink pepper and ginger to kick it up a notch.

Goldfield & Banks fragrances are exclusive to AMARIS, or online at amarisbeauty.mon.

Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine Eau de Parfum

The Gucci Flora universe expands and the spin-off fragrance will highlight the captivating scent of jasmine, as opposed to its classic scent of gardenia. Although they are both white floral scents, this iteration leans more citrus, thanks to bright top notes of Italian mandarin and bergamot.

However, expect the familiar floral and patchouli notes. This composition sees in particular the note of star jasmine accompanied by precious fragrances of magnolia and damask rose, resulting in an uplifting perfume coat for the wearer.

Available in department stores and Sephora.

Hermessence Violette Volynka

Last but not least, we have the Hermessence Violette Volynka, a refreshing fusion of two contrasting elements: leather and purple. Director of creation and olfactory heritage at Hermès Parfums, Christine Nagel gives the robust Volynka leather, a leather used for Hermès leather goods, a feminine touch.

While you might think these opposing notes might make for a cacophonous aroma, they rather balance each other out, with the powdery sweetness of the violet neutralizing the bold force of the leather.

Available in Hermès boutiques and exclusively at the Hermès counter in the Parkson Pavilion Elite Kuala Lumpur from September 1, 2022.
