The Glastonbury Festival is an opportunity for celebrities and festival-goers to let loose, dance to amazing live music and rock new fashion and beauty looks. This year, New Zealand singer Lorde was no exception. The 25-year-old usually sports a head of brunette curls, but she chose to debut a new blonde hair color as she performed on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon.

Opening her set with her single “The Path” from her latest album, “Solar Power,” Lorde wore a lilac corset tied around her thighs and layered over pink tights. Her bleached blonde hair was styled in a middle part with subtle waves at the ends. The singer previously showcased a blonde hairstyle in her music video for ‘Mood Ring,’ where she channeled the lifestyle of wellness influencers, but fans didn’t expect her to change her look off-camera. .

The “Royals” singer completed her new beauty transformation with dark brows, black eyeliner, pink eyeshadow and rosy cheeks, and there’s no denying that this pastel color palette suits her.

Blonde hair wasn’t the only talking point of Lorde’s performance, however. She brought two of her best friends on stage — Arlo Parks and Clairo — to perform her song “Stoned at the Nail Salon,” giving the crowd much more than they bargained for.

And, like Olivia Rodrigo, Lily Allen and headliner Billie Eilish, Lorde took the opportunity to use her platform to speak out against the United States Supreme Court’s devastating decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, who took away the right of pregnant women to choose to have an abortion in the United States. She said, “Do you want to hear a secret, girls? Your bodies were meant to be objectified since before you were born. This horror is your birthright. But here’s another secret. You possess ancient strength, ancient wisdom, a wisdom that has propelled every woman who has come before you. This wisdom is also your birthright. I ask you today, make accessing this wisdom your life’s work. Because it all depends on it. Lorde then added, “F*ck the Supreme Court,” as the crowd erupted in cheers.

Ahead, check out Lorde’s fabulous new look at the Glastonbury Festival.
