Tonight is the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, and while the stars keep pouring in, Halsey has already stolen the show with her dyed burgundy hair. The singer walked the red carpet in a red and black ensemble that gives Betty Boop vibes, but her hair had an expected twist.

Hidden under a Parisian-style black hat, you can see a hint of red-dipped spikes at the bottom of her dark brown hair. “That look was Helmut Newton meets Mugler Dream Queen,” said celebrity hairstylist Marty Harper. “We were inspired by her gorgeous dress to create this slicked-back bob with the angled flip at the end – it’s really giving Mugler Girl.”

To create the look, Harper used a combination of TreSemmé One Step Smooth ($6) and TreSemmé Keratin Smooth Serum ($6) before drying her hair. To style their baby hair, he used Tresemmé Tres Two Extra Hold Gel ($6) around the temples. Finally, for this retro-inspired hairstyle, Harper used the Harry Josh Pro Tools Ceramic Flat Iron ($200).

The striking hairstyle is accompanied by a cherry red lip with a dark lip liner and a dramatic winged liner. Halsey’s extensive tattoo collection is also on display at the Grammys. They have over 40 pieces of body art and their sleeveless dress lets them shine.

Ahead, take a look at Halsey’s burgundy hair color hidden under her hat.
