When Kate Middleton Released last year for a royal outing in County Durham, some have reported the Duchess giving off a lemony aroma. Could it be the mood-enhancing score that our Duchess of Cambridge love?
Emma South, Jo Malone London‘s Perfume & Lifestyle Expert, agrees that a sparkling citrus scent has special powers, telling us, “When you think about how our scents connect to our moods and memories, and what an uplifting scent for a person can be completely different to another – depending on your personal associations with a particular scent. But universally on all levels, citrus fruits are known – in aromatherapy terms – for their uplifting powers, energy and radiance.”
Emma continued: “Citrus awakens, and in perfumery they are called citrus scents which come from the thought of the sun which really has that glow. I like to think of citrus scents longer in the day – it there are no rules – but I prefer the start of the day to waking up. I also think it’s quite sporty because of the energy they give too.”
We all know that Kate likes to participate in fun sports activities, so this might be the scent she wears to the gym.
Kate Middleton shows off her sporty side
Ormonde JayneFounder and Perfumer Linda Pilkington advises everyone to choose fragrances to lift their spirits: “Citrus fruits, in particular, have an almost Proustian power over our optimism. The combination of linden and lemon blossoms, showing off their beauty before they bear fruit, can immediately connect us to nature and the life that springs up wherever we find ourselves.”
